Spearheaded project planning and provided creative direction for Armored Warfare's PVE mode (CryEngine 3), ensuring quality through collaboration with Obsidian and Mail.ru.

Armored Warfare's PVE mode was a significant component of the larger Armored Warfare experience, built within CryEngine 3. This mode focused on delivering a cinematic and scripted experience, designed to enhance gameplay value through engaging narratives and scenarios. It was developed through close collaboration with Obsidian Entertainment, with ongoing coordination with Mail.ru to ensure quality implementation.

Level Design Specifics

For Armored Warfare I handled a lot of the game design and LD direction for the PVE implementation. The PVE implementation was either COOP or Single Player with mission directives. The levels were sandbox(ish) - with some focused linear elements. I worked closely with our LDs to make sure their levels were meeting the GD requirements and were immersive and fun. Since the game was very similar to World of Tanks, we had a good reference for how to lay out maps. Our challenge came in when planning pre-placed enemies and when they spawned. I would work daily with the LDs to make sure this was clear to players and the difficulty curve was just right.
