Drove the design, project planning, and overall vision for 3 multiplayer game modes (including 4 maps per mode) for Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric in CryEngine 3, working with Big Red Button amidst a complex WiiU development environment.

Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric is an action-adventure game developed by Big Red Button and published by Sega. As part of the Sonic Boom franchise, it features Sonic and his friends in a story that involves an ancient evil and exploration. The game emphasizes cooperative gameplay, with players switching between characters with unique abilities to solve puzzles and combat enemies. It is notable for being one of the first games in the Sonic Boom series and utilizes CryEngine 3.

• Co-Dev engagement with Big Red Button to build additional game modes of Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric
• Created designs, project planning, & vision for 3 additional multiplayer game modes that included 4 maps for each game mode in CryEngine 3
• An extremely challenging development cycle where Big Red Button was able to get CryEngine 3 running on WiiU hardware, causing development pivots which readjusted team focus continuously throughout development

Level Design Specifics
There was an intense amount of work in a very short time on this project. We had 3 game modes to design and implement. I designed the game modes and shared the workload of the levels with 2 other LDs, of the 12 levels we made I made 8 of them. 2 of them I used LDD designed by another LD, but i carried them through production. Although the levels were relatively simple for soccer style mode, they got a lot more complex in the arena style levels with a lot of scripting involved. The 3rd game mode, i did not make any of the levels but directing the LDs to ensure as much quality as possible. The soccer style mode had 4 levels with different goal styles - some where all 4 players had their own goals and others were built where there was 1 goal. The arenas were very different and focused on waves, time between the waves and ramping difficulty. Unfortunately, it appears i cannot find any footage of the other levels (you have to unlock them) so the only ones i could find of my levels are below.

Here is the actual LDD for the level (they were super simple) https://docs.google.com/document/1XFI29H1IecaWcyn8_Ko5W-xdW66uVvQARv9H8HC-ZAI/edit?usp=sharing

This is a rare video i found of me taking the level in the grey room stages and applying scripting. So it’s good to see the level WIP https://youtu.be/B7G3EfiFwLA
